Volunteer Opportunities: W4TW

We have the following volunteer opportunities available:

1. W4TW Materials Lead: Responsible for procuring, updating and organizing workshop, training and education materials (includes water filter-building materials, handouts and Microsoft PowerPoint Presentation) as well as running the Student Impact Contest.
Position runs from October 2018-April 2019. Hours required: 3-4 hours/week for October -December, 4-5 hours/week for January-April.

2. W4TW Communications Lead: Responsible for managing W4TW social media and website. Works with Library Lead and Volunteer Lead(s) to ensure that communication with librarians, teachers and volunteers is consistent. Position runs from October 2018-April 2019. Hours required: 3-4 hours/week for October-December, 4-5 hours/week for January-April.

Summary of responsibilities is as follows:
Volunteer recruitment via twitter, Facebook, other media
Updating the website
Promoting the event on social media and linking to our partners
Writing/Editing emails and communications for other team members as and when required
Assisting Volunteer Lead with volunteer communications (phone, email etc.) as and when required
Sending out post project Thank yous on website and social media

3. W4TW LIBRARIES LEAD: Position runs from October 2018-April 2019. Hours required: 4-5 hours/week for October-December, 5-6 hours/week for January-April.

Summary of responsibilities is as follows:
-Liaising between W4TW team and Toronto Public Library Coordinator
-Drafting communications for librarians and teachers
-Coordinating workshops with the libraries and ensuring they finish next steps by the deadline(s)
-Confirming kit building and training room dates
-Creating and managing Eventbrite links for training, workshops and kit building
-Ensuring libraries are equipped with resources required to carry out workshops (kit, projectors, laptops, presentation materials, teacher resource materials etc.)
-Thanking libraries and teachers for their participation in the program
-Creating and sending Library and Teacher Feedback Surveys
-Obtaining results of Library and Teacher Feedback Survey and discussing them with the W4TW Team
