2018 – 2019 EWB Toronto Pro Chapter Executive Team
Oghosa Igbinakenzua – President
Oghosa works as a consultant within the Strategic, Regulatory and Financial Risk Practice at Deloitte after graduating from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Industrial Engineering. He previously volunteered with EWB’s Youth Engagement portfolio at the U of T Chapter after attending EWB’s National Conference, which sparked his interest in the organization. Born and raised in Nigeria, Oghosa is passionate about economic growth in Africa and is excited to be serving as president of the Toronto Professional chapter.
Peter Hucal – Vice President, General
Peter graduated from the Royal Military College of Canada in Kingston, ON, with a B.Eng. in Civil Engineering. He is pursuing a career in the extractive resource industry, having worked for both oil & gas and mining majors. Peter is a competitive runner and enjoys playing squash and golf.
Heli Brecailo – Vice President, Finance
Heli Brecailo is a Finance professional with nine years of experience in the Investment Management industry. He currently works as a Finance Consultant for small and mid-sized organizations in the GTA. Prior to that, he worked for six years in a private equity fund in Boston helping build a portfolio of US$560 million. He evaluated acquisitions in various parts of the world including Africa and set up and supervised the financial management of operating companies.
Daman Gill – Vice President, Membership & Networking
Daman’s prior experience with EWB includes helping obtain corporate sponsorships for the 2015 R2EP (held as part of the 2015 Scotiabank Waterfront Marathon), and helping plan Member Learning events and a chapter retreat in 2017. He holds a BASc in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Waterloo and an MASc in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Toronto. Daman is employed by Enercare Connections, where his work primarily entails product evaluation and training for new technologies for utility metering of multi-residential and commercial properties.
Anum Khan – Vice President, Water For The World
Anum graduated with a B.Eng. in Civil Engineering and is currently completing a Master of Applied Science degree in Civil Engineering at Ryerson University. Her research focuses on the potential threats of gross solids in sewer systems and the need to implement proactive measures in urban areas. Anum is engaged in a number of water associations including— the Canadian Water Network, the Canadian Association on Water Quality, and the International Water Association, where she plays an integral role in hosting webinars and blue-networking events. Currently, she leads an EWB initiative, Water for the World, where she passionately looks to deliver educational workshops to young students to raise awareness about global water poverty.
Sigrid Grosseth – Member Learning Lead
Sigrid Grosseth has taken on the role of Member Learning Lead after volunteering with EWB’s Toronto Chapter Annual Fundraiser, which sparked her interest in getting more involved. After graduating from Queen’s University in Chemical Engineering, she moved to Toronto and is pursuing a MASc in Environmental Applied Science Management at Ryerson University. Her research focuses on environmental sustainability in the brewing industry.
Kirsten MacMillan has worked as an Engineer in Training in Infrastructure Planning at Cole Engineering for the past two years after graduating from Civil Engineering at Queen’s University in 2017. She is also pursuing a second degree part-time in Global Development Studies to further her understanding of sustainable development. Kirsten has previously worked as the Volunteers Lead for Water the World for two years helping to recruit and train volunteers to bring workshops to 1600+ youth across Ontario. She loves being outdoors, especially hiking and anything that brings her closer to the water.
