EWB Toronto respects the privacy of our members and supporters. All information that you provide to us through the website will be used for internal purposes only. We will not disclose any of your personal information outside of the organization.
Our web server does not automatically recognize or collect personal information based on your email address, and all personal information we collect is always voluntarily submitted by you. EWB uses your information to send you communications such as our e-newsletter, organization updates, surveys and/or mail appeals. You may opt out of any mailing lists at any time.
The information you provide about yourself is not made available to other EWB members except when we have your permission or under special circumstances required for EWBs operations, such as providing the executive of your chapter (if you belong to one) with a membership list.

EWB Canada Best Practices
Engineers Without Borders Canada (EWB-Canada) is committed to protecting the privacy of its donors, volunteers, employees, members and other stakeholders.
To support this commitment, EWB-Canada has adopted the Canadian Centre of Philanthropy’s Code of Fundraising Ethics and the Bill of Donor’s Rights. EWB-Canada is dedicated to being both transparent and accountable in dealing with the information that you choose to share with us.
During the course of our various projects and activities, EWB-Canada frequently gathers and uses personal information. Anyone from whom we collect such information should expect that it will be carefully protected and that any use of or other dealing with this information is subject to consent. EWB-Canada's privacy practices are designed to achieve this.
Personal Information DefinedPersonal Information is any information that can be used to distinguish, identify or contact a specific individual. This information can include an individual's opinions or beliefs, as well as facts about, or related to, the individual. Exceptions: business contact information and certain publicly available information, such as names, addresses and telephone numbers as published in telephone directories, are not considered personal information.
Privacy PracticesPersonal information gathered by EWB-Canada is kept in confidence. Our personnel are authorized to access personal information based only on their need to deal with the information for reason(s) for which it was obtained. Safeguards are in place to ensure that the information is not disclosed or shared more widely than is necessary to achieve the purpose for which it was gathered. We also take measures to ensure the integrity of this information is maintained and to prevent its being lost or destroyed.
We collect, use and disclose personal information only for purposes that a reasonable person would consider appropriate in light of the circumstances. We routinely offer individuals we deal with the opportunity to opt not to have their information shared for purposes beyond those for which it was explicitly collected.
Website and Electronic SecurityEWB-Canada uses password protocols to protect personal and other information we receive. Our software is routinely updated to maximize protection of such information. We use your IP address to help diagnose problems with our server, and to administer our website.
